Empty Bowls Supper

Thank you to everyone who joined us on May 7th! It was a wonderful evening and we are looking forward to next year’s Supper!

The Empty Bowls Supper has been a tradition at the Jubilee Center for 13 years. Diners buy an empty bowl and receive a simple, yummy dinner of soup, bread, and dessert. The food is donated by prominent local restaurants and diners bring their pottery home with them. All of the proceeds benefit the Jubilee Center’s programs.

In 2017 we offered pottery from Carrie White, Edgecomb Potters, Georgetown Pottery, Mudroom Pottery, the Potter’s House, Saltbox Pottery, and students at Bates College and St. Dominic Academy.

Dinner was prepared by Ben’s Burritos, DaVinci’s Italian Eatery, Forage Market, Gipper’s Sports Grill, Governor’s Restaurant, Grant’s Bakery, Hurricane’s Cafe and Deli, Italian Bakery, Marche Kitchen and Wine Bar, Marco’s Restaurant, Sam’s Italian Restaurant, Sedgley Place, She Doesn’t Like Guthrie’s, Subway, and Wei Li.

Thank you Maine’s Big Z for promoting the Empty Bowls Supper!

Fight hunger now!
Fill a bowl for a neighbor in need.

Our soup kitchen serves 100 plates of food each day to the hungry and homeless. For many it is the only hot meal they eat all day. Fill a Bowl and make these meals possible!

The Empty Bowls Supper is teaming up with our Sponsor a Meal Project and challenging you to Fill a Bowl – virtually! A $25 donation will serve 25 meals to the hungry. A $100 donation will serve 100 meals and sponsor a whole day of operations in our soup kitchen!

The Fill a Bowl Project needs your help now! Help us reach our goal of sponsoring the entire first week of June!
