Unfortunately our volunteer capacity is pretty limited during the pandemic. We are not letting any new people into the building: it is a small space and the risk is too high. If someone who came in ended up testing positive it would likely force our whole team into quarantine. This would force the shelter, soup kitchen, and food pantry to shut down and a lot of people would go without help. If you would like to help with one of the tasks below, or have a creative idea for another remote volunteering project, please fill out our Volunteer Sign-Up form below!
The Center serves lunch six days each week. We are in need of individuals or groups with access to a public kitchen (a church, community center, restaurant, etc. – not a home kitchen) who would like to package food for us periodically. Usually this will involved taking bulk bags of snacks, like trail mix, and putting it into individual baggies to be included in the lunch bags. We provide the food, bags, etc.
We are always in need of reliable volunteer drivers for our Food Rescue Project. Trinity does not own vehicles so volunteers play a big role in picking up donations of leftover food that stores set aside for us. Food is picked up daily and volunteers commit to one shift per week.
We welcome groups interested in holding fundraisers and supply drives for our programs! These are events that we simply don’t have the manpower to run on our own but they are an important source of donations and a great way to spread the word about Trinity. See our Contribute page for a list of needed supplies.
There is a lot of work to be done at the Center and many tasks that we would love assistance with. If you have special skills or are interested in other options for volunteering please get in touch with us!
