Essential duties and responsibilities:

• Working alongside another staff member and volunteers to cook, plate, and distribute the Soup Kitchen’s to-go lunches.
• Supervising and working alongside volunteers to prep food, wash dishes, sweep and mop floors, and keep the kitchen, shelter, and premises clean and organized.
• Helping to supervise the homeless shelter, including admissions and monitoring behavior.
• Helping with other tasks as needed, such as organizing donations.

Requirements:

• Required education: High school diploma
• Required experience: 2 years of customer service experience
• Preferred experience: 1 year of food service experience
• Excellent communication and organization skills
• Ability to take initiative and work independently as well as collaboratively
• Must have patience and respect for all clients
• Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds 
• Prolonged periods of standing and exposure to heat and cleaning products

Schedule and compensation:

• Saturdays 7:30 AM – 3:00 PM
• The hourly rate begins at $20 per hour
