The Trinity Jubilee Center is a multi-service, secular agency serving downtown Lewiston. The Center operates five programs: a soup kitchen, food pantry, resource center, refugee integration program, and a day shelter. The center is open six days a week and serves more than 1,000 clients each week.

Now hiring: Fundraising assistant

 

Trinity Jubilee Center announces the opening of a campaign assistant position and is soliciting applications from qualified independent contractors. In August 2024 the Center breaks ground on a new facility. 80% of the funding needed has been raised and this spring the Center enters a final fundraising push to raise the remaining funds. Under the direction of Trinity Jubilee Center’s executive director, the campaign assistant is responsible for keeping detailed records of donation data and assisting with the organization’s campaign communications and fundraising activities. This position offers a professional opportunity to help make this project a reality while enjoying a flexible schedule and mostly remote work.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Manage donor information, including entering monetary donation and donation pledge details into the donor management software
  • Issue donor acknowledgements and pledge reminders
  • Assist with the creation and distribution of campaign materials
  • Provide administrative assistance to the capital campaign committee, including scheduling meetings, taking minutes at meetings, and keeping track of tasks assigned to each person
  • Assist with planning and implementation of special events
  • Maintain an orderly filing system (both electronic and paper)
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Desired knowledge and skills:

  • Two years of administrative, development or related experience
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications and Google Workspace
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • The ability to work with a high degree of personal and professional initiative, and ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Customer Relationship Management or fundraising database experience a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently as well as collaboratively

Schedule and compensation:

  • The campaign assistant will work as a 1099 independent contractor and complete 5 – 15 hours of work per week as needed.
  • Work begins immediately and is expected to continue for about 6 months.
  • Most of the work will be done remotely with a flexible schedule. In-person assistance will be needed on occasion for things like events and mailings.
  • The hourly rate is expected to be between $20 and $25 per hour.

Now hiring: AmeriCorps VISTA Member 

The Center has been approved to host an AmeriCorps VISTA member from 2024 – 2025. This position supports the Center’s capital campaign, raising funds to construct a brand new facility! The position includes working behind the scenes and providing support to the capital campaign committee, logging donations and thanking donors, helping to organize fundraising events, and recruiting volunteers. At times when the campaign slows down the AmeriCorps member will work with the Center’s staff to assess and facilitate improvements to ongoing operations to help programs operate more efficiently and successfully. The AmeriCorps member will work directly with the Trinity Jubilee Center’s executive director and chair of the board of directors, as well as the consulting firms hired to manage the fundraising campaign and the project. They will have a front-row seat to high-level fundraising, as the campaign solicits six-figure donations, learn valuable campaign management skills, and make connections with the business, government, and other leaders serving on the campaign committee.

 

Schedule: Full time. One year term.

Eligibility: Must be 18 or older at the start date of service

Pay: Biweekly stipend of $675  AmeriCorps recently increased the stipend to: $877.66 biweekly ($22,881 for the entire term)!

Benefits: The Center is offering a housing stipend of $300 per month

Bonus: At end of service, choose between an Education Award of $6,895 or an End-of-Term Stipend of $1,800.
